Will a Mountain Last Forever?
This was the question of the day. We had a friendly debate with being able to explain their thinking. For example, some of our friends who thought a mountain would last forever said, “Machu Picchu has been around for hundreds of years”, “Mountains have been around since the first person till now”, “Mountains can survive anything.” The opposition said, “Rocks can break down and a mountain is a rock”, There was a rock slide in Flank Slide and the mountain was destroyed by it”.
We ended the day watching a video about the 17 most fascinating rock formations.
Now as we begin looking at rocks and minerals, we have asked students to bring in any interesting and different rocks they might have.
